Are black widows common in St. George?

Yes. Western black widows are common across Southern Utah. They hide in dark, protected spots like garages, block walls, irrigation boxes and wood piles.

What should I do if a black widow bites me?

Call a doctor or Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) right away, especially for children, older adults, or anyone with severe pain or other symptoms.

Why do I see more spiders in the fall?

Spiders, especially wolf spiders, look for shelter as nights cool off, and males wander looking for mates. That's when many slip under doors.

Will spider treatment get rid of webs?

We treat where spiders live and knock down webs and egg sacs around eaves and entry points we can reach.
